About BestRustServers.xyz

BestRustServers.xyz reads the public Rust server list every five minutes and records what each server publishes.

The in-game server browser shows a name, a number and little else. BestRustServers.xyz keeps the rest: player count at each refresh, time since last wipe, wipe cycle, region, map size, max group size, tick rate and uptime, for every public Rust server it can read.

The data comes from two sources. Steam's public Rust server list supplies names, live player counts, queues and server tags. Direct queries to each server supply map seed, frame rate and entity count where the server answers. Servers that do not answer direct queries show only what Steam publishes; nothing is estimated or filled in.

Ranks use players over the past week, recorded hour by hour. A server that holds a steady population ranks above one that fills for a single evening after a wipe. Order is by player count, never by payment. Paid placement does not exist here. "Best" means the most played and the most reliable in the live data, and the ranked list changes when that data changes.

Refreshes run every five minutes. A server's own settings control what the site shows, so corrections belong in those settings. Changes usually appear within five minutes. If something still looks wrong, write to hello@bestrustservers.xyz.

BestRustServers.xyz is independent and run by Rust players. It is not affiliated with Facepunch Studios, and Facepunch does not endorse it. Server names, descriptions and images belong to the people who run those servers.

Questions

How often does BestRustServers.xyz update its data?

Player counts, queues and tags refresh every five minutes from Steam's public Rust server list. Direct server queries for map seed, FPS and entity count run on the same cycle. Any figure you see is at most five minutes old.

Can I pay to rank higher on BestRustServers.xyz?

No. Ranking is based on the player count recorded each hour over the past week. There is no paid placement, and payment does not change a server's position. The order you see is the order the live data produces.

Why is my server missing or showing wrong details?

The site shows only what a server publishes to Steam or answers in a direct query. If a server is private or blocks queries, it may not appear at all. For wrong details, check the server's own settings; changes usually appear within about five minutes.
