The server list is the record of every public server players can join. It covers all of them, official and community, vanilla and modded.
How the verdict is reached
We count servers that answer the query on the Rust port, then the players they report. That count is compared with a rolling average taken from the same hour on the previous days. Three bands:
- Up: at or above 85 per cent of the usual count.
- Degraded: between 50 and 85 per cent. Some servers are not answering.
- Down: below 50 per cent. This is a rust outage or a Steam outage.
The band is an observation of the list, not an official statement.
48-hour chart
The chart plots total players across the full server list for 48 hours, updated every five minutes. The shaded band is the normal range for each hour. If the line drops under the band, that is an outage; if it sits not in the band, the usual daily cycle is running. Peaks fall in the evening in your region and after a wipe.
If your client shows no servers
If this page says servers are up and your in-game browser is empty, the fault is between your machine and Steam. In order of how often each step fixes it:
- Restart Steam, then Rust. The in-game list comes from Steam, and a stale login can show nothing.
- Clear server browser filters. A region or tag set weeks ago can hide every server.
- Check whether Steam is down. When Steam's list is out, every game's browser empties and this page usually shows a drop.
- On force wipe day, update Rust first; see the force wipe time.
- Try with your VPN off. Some networks block the traffic the browser uses.
If one server is missing, it is that server restarting, wiping or down. Its page shows when it was last seen.

The last read time sits under the verdict, normally within five minutes. If it is past 25 minutes the page says the reading is behind, rather than giving you a stale number as if it were live.
